The 6th Annual Jersey Coast Fluke Tournament early sign-up is good on all entries postmarked by May 30th. After that date, the entry fee increases from $75 per boat to $85.

This event is the largest saltwater fishing tournament on the East Coast and the list of prizes and sponsors make it the most anticipated of the year. The fishing date is Saturday, June 10th and the gala awards ceremony is scheduled for Friday, June 16^th at Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City where tens of thousands of dollars in door prizes will be drawn.

You still have time to enter by mail or fax. Entry forms are available at many tackle shops and marinas around the state. Look for the tournament poster on display at Boater’s World and ask for a form. The entry fee is $75 per boat with up to six anglers. This event is actually ten mini-tournaments in one. You compete for over $2,800 in prizes for your port. Prizes include 1^st place $1,000 sponsored by Resorts, 2^nd place $500 by Boater’s World, 3^rd place L470 Depth Finder by Raytheon, 4^th place $250 value embroidered luggage set by Canyon Gear, 5^th place $200 by UFA, 6^th place Penn Rod & Reel, 7^th place Fisherman Magazine Video collection and 8^th place Starbrite Boat Kit. All will be awarded for the largest fish weighed in at your port.

The Grand Prize drawn on the 16^th is a Yamaha powered, 18¢ 6² Cobia center console with a Shoreland’r trailer, which as a package carries a price tag of $26,000. You don’t even have to catch a fish to win it! Break the state record for fluke and you can win a $30,000 Ford F150 4X4 courtesy of Pt. Pleasant Ford to pull your new Cobia boat and Shoreland’r trailer.

Resorts Hotel & Casino, Atlantic City’s premiere hotel and gaming establishment, has generously agreed to host the awards and prize drawings on the evening of June 16, 2000 in their grand ballroom. They will provide cash bars and buffet tickets for each entrant and up to three crewmembers. Resorts encourage all tournament entrants to take advantage of their facilities after the drawing. A limited number of specially priced rooms will be set aside for tournament participants wishing to make a weekend of it. Phone -800-932-0734
