This is the time of the year when people are working on their boats or are already enjoying the sport of fishing that we are all fighting so hard to preserve for the future. Keep up the fight for a strong future in the sport we all love to enjoy. Take time to write the letters that we are asking you to write.
The Drawing for the High Roller Raffle will be at the next Jersey Coast Anglers Association regular monthly meeting on April 27,1999. Make sure all your ticket stubs are in prior to the drawing for a chance at the great prizes.
Get your calendar out to mark an important date of May 25. This is the deadline for early entries for this year’s Jersey Coast Fluke Tournament to be held on June 5. Besides the $500 2nd place that UFA is sponsoring they have added an additional port prize for UFA member in the Tournament. Check the insert to find out how to win the Abu-Garica Rod and reel combo. The Gala Awards Ceremony will be held on the evening of June 11, which is a Friday, at Resorts Casino-Hotel in Atlantic City. To make this a great event, we are going to need help at the casino for registration, selling T-shirts and just filling in as needed. Those interested please contact the JCAA office for more information.
We are putting a dinner together honoring past recipients of the Sportsperson of the year award. Don and Al Marantz are the chairmen of this committee and as you know two people can not pull this event off so they need help. Those interested in lending a hand contact Al Marantz at 908-224-9350.
There will be HOT ISSUES coming up within the next year or so on striped bass, which is always an important topic. Mike Burke is our chairman for striped bass and he is looking for people who are interested in lending a hand on this committee. Contact Mike at 732-398-1935.
