ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION & YOUTH FISHING PROGRAMS
Educational programs for students and families that are interested in environmental education and youth fishing have inspired educators to develop fun activities for a variety of outdoor learning projects. Major hunting and fishing exposition's throughout the Northeast are also incorporating several environmental awareness and family fishing activities into their show promotions. This trend has gained momentum over the last few years and will continue to grow as more women and children take an active part in the educational programs that are designed to increase their knowledge of the outdoors.
Marie Frolio, J.C.A.A. Aquatic Education Coordinator, attended the Annual ANJEE Conference (Alliance for NJ Environmental Education) that was held Friday, January 6, 1995, at Rutgers' Cook College. An evening event took place from 8:00 - 12:00 PM, for the Fourth Annual, New Jersey Conference on Environmental Music, at the Ramada Inn, East Brunswick. This was a fun and informative evening. The purpose was to promote environmental and natural resource awareness among our State's youth, through music. Marie found this to be an opportunity to learn about key environmental educators in New Jersey, who can help initiate programs at camps, school groups, fishing clubs, etc. For more information about aquatic environmental education contact: the J.C.A.A. Youth Education Committee, Phone: 908/506-6565, or Tanya Oznowich, at 609/984- 9802 and Larry Sarner, 609/748-2031, New Jersey Marine Education .
