The Governor’s 8th Annual Surf Fishing Tournament will be held Sunday, October 3, 1999 at Island Beach State Park. Registration is $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for teens 13-18; children 12 and under fish for FREE and must be accompanied by an adult. Admission to the park is free to registered anglers fishing the tournament. Funds raised from the tournament benefit the development of disabled access, shore restoration projects and environmental education.
Disabled anglers who would like to participate in the fishing tournament can reserve a beach wheel chair, rod & reel and volunteer assistance for surf casting. Please phone Greg Kucharewski, Governor’s Tournament Committee Member 732-785-9278 (24 hour message machine).
FAMILY FUN
A Surf Fishing Clinic will be held the morning of the tournament at the main pavilion and variety of surf fishing skills will be demonstrated by veteran surf fishing instructors.
Children attending the fishing tournament are welcome to enjoy the many fun activities at the pavilion area.
