Cindy Zipf, Executive Director of Clean Ocean Action, was chosen unanimously to be the JCAA Sports Person of the Year for 1993 by the delegates at the JCAA January meeting. Cindy will be presented with the award at the JCAA March 29 meeting.
Every one that saw the clarity of the ocean waters along the coast of New Jersey in the summer of 1993 should realized this was the result of many of the efforts of Cindy Zipf and the staff of Clean Ocean Action. Many of the pollution problems that seemed impossible to stop 15 years ago, such as sludge and garbage dumping, came to an end because of the incredible efforts of Cindy.
The delegates from your organization should make a special effort to come to the March JCAA meeting to honor this person who has done so much to restore and protect the environment that our sport depends upon.
