Herb Siperstein loves to fish. He has been an avid saltwater fisherman for over 35 years, is a member of the Thousand Fathoms Club North and the Four Seasons Fishing Club and has been actively involved with the JCAA for the past four years. Herb also sits on the New Jersey Marine Fisheries Council. He is the owner of Siperstein's Paint Stores, with 15 locations around New Jersey.
As a dedicated sport fisherman, Herb has some serious observations and some advice. "During my lifetime, I've seen our marine fisheries decline from commercial over fishing. First it was the Russians in the Canyons thumbing their noses at us recreational anglers, then foreign vessels on our inshore waters taking all the government allowed until recreational fishermen pushed for the 200 mile limit. But today, it's our own American commercial fleet that refuses to take responsibility for their actions," says Herb. "Without watchdog groups that are bringing recreational fishermen together into a unified voice, the destruction will continue unabated, and JCAA is leading the way. That's why I'm a sponsor and that's why anyone interested in our marine fisheries and recreational fishing should be involved too!"

The more you see and the more you learn as a recreational fisherman, the more you become aware that just complaining isn't enough.
