Show season is winding down. Our last show will be The Saltwater Fishing Expo in Somerset NJ from March 15th through the 17th at the Garden State Exhibit Center. We will have raffle tickets for our annual High Rollers Raffle which will be drawn on May 18th this year.
The 2013 summer flounder regulations were set this past week by the NJ Marine Fisheries Council. The 2013 season will run from May 18th through September 16th with a minimum size of 17.5” and a five (5) fish bag limit.
As many of you may have heard by now there is a proposed compromise from the Commissioner’s office for Pots Off the Reefs. Please make sure you attend our next general meeting on March 26th as we will have a lot to discuss about this proposal.
The New Jersey Fish and Game Council, in coordination with the New Jersey Marine Fisheries Council, and the Department of Environmental Protection's Division of Fish and Wildlife, have modified the regulations for American shad in marine and fresh waters of the state. Just a quick reminder, don’t forget our 2012 Sportsperson-of-the-Year Dinner is coming up on April 14, 2013. We had to postpone this great event due to the effects of Hurricane Sandy. We look forward to seeing everyone at Crystal Point in April!
NJ Saltwater Recreational Registry Program / NJ Volunteer Angler Survey
Don’t forget to register or re-register with the NJ Saltwater Recreational Registry Program for 2013. You can register or renew your registration for 2013 by going to: www.saltwaterregistry.nj.gov. If you do go fishing please consider filling out the NJ Volunteer Angler Survey to help the Bureau of Marine Fisheries better manage our resources by going to this link.

REMINDER
FEMA is operating out of the Brick Civic Plaza. Our February General Meeting will be held at the Jersey Coast Anglers Association office, 1201 Route 37 East, Suite 9, Toms River, NJ. FEMA announced that they are closing all of their temporary offices. They are still operating in Brick. If this changes by our meeting date we will email the club representatives to notify them of a change in meeting location.
