If you weren’t there you should have been.

The 11th JCAA Annual Fluke Tournament Awards Ceremony held in the Grand Cayman Room at Trump Marina Hotel Casino on Friday, June 17th   was a festive affair attended by hundreds of anglers and sponsors.

The ceremonies started at 8 PM and in less than two hours, 120 port prizes and 100 door prizes and the grand prize Century Boat, Yamaha Motor and LoadRite Trailer were awarded to the happy winners. You had to be there to experience the excitement. The winners and sponsors are listed elsewhere in this issue.

It is obvious that a tournament of this scale is possible because of the unique fluke fishery that we are blessed with, a large, enthusiastic group of anglers state-wide, and the support of numerous newspapers and fishing magazines and their correspondents, tackle shops, boating equipment retailers, boat and motor manufacturers, and a lot of other allied trades who provide door prizes and sponsor port prizes and the grand prize and the weigh station hosts.   JCAA thanks you all.

What is less obvious is the untold effort of many JCAA board members and other volunteers who have worked for many months to solicit port sponsorships and door prizes, create advertising, order printing of posters and entry forms, revise, procure and distribute weigh station banners, design and order tournament apparel, process tournament entries and orders for hats and shirts, man the phones for last minute entries, develop port packets with entry rosters and reporting forms, serve as weigh masters, assemble the winner lists and implement press releases, coordinate the logistics of the awards ceremony and insure a smooth, efficient registration and awards ceremony.

There are too many to list by name. On behalf of all JCAA club members, associate members, sponsors and friends, I salute them, one and all.
