New Jersey Environmental Federation (NJEF)
will host its 19th annual conference “Getting New Jersey Back
on the Right Track” on April 2, 2005 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Jackson
Memorial High School’s Fine Arts Center, 101 Don Conner Blvd, Jackson, NJ
08527(Ocean County).
Keynote speakers include Acting Governor
Richard Codey (invited), US Senator Jon Corzine (confirmed), Senate
Republican Leader Leonard Lance (confirmed) and Shelley A. Hearne, DrPH,
Executive Director for Trust for America’s Health (confirmed).
The day will feature workshops on drinking
water protections, fast track, healthy schools, pesticides, consumer
choices, coalition building, environmental justice, renewable energy, and
worker’s issues. An environmental award ceremony will feature Chatham
Township Environmental Commission, Helen Henderson (Chair of Lacey Rail
Trail Committee), Paula Krokus (Environmental Chair of NJ Parent Teacher
Association), and Save Petty’s Island Coalition. In addition, there will
be a reception with key political and environmental leaders at the end of
the day.
Conference registration (includes coffee,
breakfast snacks, lunch, and reception) is $30 per person, $25 per person
for groups of 5 or more, $25 per person registering before March 10, 2004,
and $15 for students. To register
