President's Reportby Bruce Smith (from Jersey Coast Anglers Association February 2005 Newsletter) At the December 28th JCAA General Meeting the Nominating Committee of the Board of Directors presented their slate of nominees for officers for 2005 and this slate was unanimously elected by the member club delegates in attendance. Your 2005 JCAA officers are: Bruce Smith, Pres.; Dan Miller, 1st V.P.; Don Marantz, 2nd V.P.; Doug Tegeder, Treas.; Paul Turi, Rec.Sec.; Jim Campbell, Cor. Sec.; John Toth, Membership Sec. Congratulations and welcome to all. Thanks to all of the members who manned the JCAA booths at the Saltwater Sportsman Seminar at Trump Casino Hotel & Marina on January 8th and at the Garden State Sportsmen Show at the Raritan Center January 13 thru 16. Both shows were well attended. Many anglers demonstrated their support of JCAA by their purchase of raffle tickets at both events and, more importantly, by their acknowledgement and endorsement of JCAA’s commitment to and action in protecting our marine fisheries and the rights of marine recreational anglers. Many expressed their concern about winter flounder and striped bass regulations. Most agreed with JCAA’s stated positions on these important issues. The next event at which JCAA will be represented is the Atlantic City Boat Show on February 2 thru 6. Anyone interested in helping out with raffle sales and talking the talk should contact Mark Taylor at 732-929-2591 JCAA has a new monthly meeting room in Brick. We are still meeting in Brick starting with the December 28, but it will be in the Brick Plaza at 270 Chambers Bridge Rd. This is on the other side of the street from the municipal building just East of the High School. Since we need to be done by 10PM please be there at 7:30.
