Fishing Fun For Kid's

The Jersey Coast Anglers Association's Youth Education Committee will support the Long Branch Middle School and introduce the Future Fisherman Foundations "Hooked On Fishing Not On Drugs" program. Dr. Eleanor Bochenek, Rutgers Cooperative Extension & New Jersey Sea Grant Agent will assist seventh grade teacher Mrs. Beales in developing an aquatic education program for her class. Aquatic learning posters and videos will be provided by the Jersey Coast Anglers Association's lending library. If you know of a school in your area that would like to introduce children to the joys of fishing and have fun learning about our aquatic environment give phone the Jersey Coast Anglers Association's office.

Things To Do This Winter

It's going to be a long cold winter and it can be the perfect opportunity to introduce children to learning about making hand-crafted fishing lures, rod repair, tying saltwater and freshwater flies, reel maintenance, and going to the outdoor hunting and fishing expositions. If funds are available consider taking a fishing vacation, Disney World offers freshwater fishing and the rates are reasonable.

The Jersey Coast Anglers Association's Youth Education Committee will establish a youth fishing and aquatic education network through member clubs in the J.C.A.A. The purpose is to have member organizations of the J.C.A.A., mail or fax youth fishing information to our office so that their youth & family fishing activities will be published in the J.C.A.A. newsletter. Several member clubs in the J.C.A.A. work hard to promote youth and family fishing and should be recognized for their accomplishments. The J.C.A.A. Youth Education Committee can help provide banners, posters, fishing rods & reels, and a variety of other support material for youth and family fishing events.

LOOKING FOR A SPONSOR

The Jersey Coast Anglers Association's Youth Education Committee is looking for a corporate sponsor to help fund our safe boating campaign for 1997. The corporate sponsor will help offset the printing cost of 50,000 bumper stickers that will be used to increase awareness about safe boating. The 1997 safe boating slogan is STAY AFLOAT DON'T DRINK & BOAT. This will be part of our promotion for the Future Fisherman Foundation's "Hooked On Fishing Not On Drugs" 10 year anniversary.
