PRESIDENT’S REPORT

By Mark Taylor

(from Jersey Coast Anglers Association February 1999 Newsletter)

The next Jersey Coast Anglers Association Meeting will be my first as the newly elected President. We will be discussing issues that we must act on immediately. Make sure your club has a representative present.

There are two important bills to be heard in February by the State Senate Environmental Committee. They are the Menhaden Protection bill (S722/A1827) and Fishing & Hunting License Increase bill (S1378). We all need to do our part to support these bills and move them out of committee and then pass them with a yes vote once on the floor.

I would like to thank the individuals that worked the JCAA booth at the Garden State Sportsman’s Show in Raritan Center. Without them it would not have been a success. We need more people to participate when they can and not rely on the same people all the time. Anyone wishing to volunteer for future events should send a note to the office stating the time you will be available.
