Chairman Introduction
My love for fishing began as a child. While sitting on the bank of an irrigation canal, I would do battle with some of the largest catfish imaginable. As I grew older and my fishing prowess improved, I moved on to stalking tarpon. Although my catch ratio went down, the sheer excitement of each fight kept me coming back for more. For the last six years I have been chasing striped bass up and down the New Jersey coast. As a member of the Berkeley Striper Club for the last two years, my family has joined me in the various activities sponsored by the Club, which proved to be quality time spent together. As a father of a ten year old son, I've been able to enjoy truly meaningful moments, as we jointly searched out new bass hot spots.
We are living in a time when the pressures of life are greater then ever. Demands on our family time and personal time are ever increasing. Activities which allow individuals to de-stress and families to come closer together must be protected. Striped bass fishing has been this and more for me. This is my motivation for joining the Jersey Coast team. The work load set before us is guaranteed as commercial interests continue their attempt to take more and more of our fish. The balance of this year will be devoted to establishing the Striped Bass Committee and setting our goals for the new year.
