WORKSHOP FOR HABITAT MANAGERS - ATLANTIC COASTAL MARINE FISH HABITAT - June 3-6, 1996

Fisheries and management of marine fish habitat are inherently intertwined. Fish habitat is synonymous with everything a fish needs to survive; thus habitat management decisions can severely impact the resources upon which fish depend. It is critical that fishery managers and habitat managers work together to manage these vital resources.

1996 "Kid's Wish'N To Go Fish'N" Campaign

J.C.A.A. is supporting the Valerie Fund's Camp Happy Times for young patients with cancer and blood disorders in New Jersey. Camp Happy Times was opened in 1983 and has provided vital psychological boosts for many children and their families. Some children attending Camp Happy Times are not well enough to participate in sports that require a lot of physical activity. Many of the children at the camp enjoy the fishing program because it is something they can do without exhausting themselves.

Camp Happy Times is a one-week camp for children 6-16 living in or being treated in New Jersey. Young adults who are over 16 can join the Junior Counselor Program for ages 17-20. The activities include swimming, boating, fishing, sports, arts and crafts, and creative expression. The lakes and fresh air of the campgrounds are most appealing.

If you or your fishing club would like to send a donation to the Jersey Coast Anglers Association's, office for this worthwhile youth fishing program. Please send a check or money order care of J.C.A.A. Youth Ed., 1201 Hwy. #37 East, Suite 9, Toms River, NJ 08753 or see A BOARD MEMBER at the next J.C.A.A. meeting.
