New Jersey Striped Bass Bill has not passed yet !!

(from Jersey Coast Anglers Association April 1995 Newsletter)

Legislation that will allow saltwater anglers in New Jersey to keep two 28" striped bass per day has bogged down in the New Jersey Senate. The bill, S-1776, is scheduled to be brought up for a vote by the Senate on May 11. The bill then must be considered by committee in the Assembly and brought up for a vote by the full Assembly.

All New Jersey anglers will have to fish under the current law, with the same size and bag limit as last year, until this legislation is passed and signed into law by Gov. Whitman. It is up to the fishermen of New Jersey to apply pressure on their state legislators for quick passage of this bill.

Contact the state Senator and Assemblyperson from your district to demand immediate action on the striped bass bill. Also contact Gov. Whitman’s office to request immediate signing of the bill by the Governor when it comes to her desk.
