(from Jersey Coast Anglers Association March 1994 Newsletter)
A few years ago, a new tackle shop opened up in Point Pleasant, an area with probably a dozen established tackle shops, already. Many local fishermen wondered how this new operation could get along with so much competition nearby. I know I was one of them. What could Reel Life offer that the others didn't? Well, the shop began growing from its first year under the watchful eye of its owner, Richie Przewoznik (please don't try to pronounce his last name because nobody gets it right). His likable personality, attitude, attention to customer service and willingness to stock an ever widening array of tackle has made his store tops on many local fishermen's list of shopping destinations.
After just a couple of years, it became necessary for Richie to move the business to a larger building up the street from the old store. It has been located at 2621 Bridge Avenue for the past season and, you guessed it, Reel Life is growing again. For this spring, Richie has taken over the other half of his present location and is almost doubling the square footage, number of walls, racks and displays from last year and his fast growing customer base loves it. He stocks a variety of tackle from inexpensive outfits for summer tourists to top line tackle like G. Loomis rods. He carries a full line of baits, live and frozen, and keeps long hours, 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM in season, so if you can't get there for your baits and rigs in the morning, you can always get their the night before.
Richie says, "I might not be a big business, but JCAA is important to my future. Without fair regulations and healthy fisheries, I might just as well close the door tomorrow. I work hard for my money, but I would find it hard to justify not sponsoring JCAA. Anyone that has a business that involves recreational fishing should make it a point to become a sponsor and help this group."
