President's Report

The time is quickly approaching to dust off the rods and reels and check our supplies for the upcoming season. While I am in that process, I am making a list of what I would like to replace. The Shows this spring have all the latest in one place. Be sure to look for Mark Taylor’s list of places and dates.

We need the club representatives to make every effort to attend the January 31 JCAA General Meeting since many important issues need to be discussed. We have the election of 2012 Officers and need to vote on a couple of important issues, like JCAA position on the Black Sea Bass Addendum.

While taking care of household chores, let’s take care of the taxes and remember that JCAA is a 501 3C Corporation and a wonderful tax deduction for the 2011 season.

The New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife reminds all saltwater anglers they must register with the New Jersey Saltwater Recreational Registry Program (NJSRRP) prior to fishing in 2012. Anglers who registered in 2011 are reminded that registrations expire at the end of each calendar year and must be renewed annually. Anglers with a valid license/registration from another exempted state, or a New Jersey freshwater license, are still required to register (for free) with the NJSRRP. The only means to register is online at: www.saltwaterregistry.nj.gov.

2012 High Roller Raffle

Our volunteers have put together a great selection of rods and reels for our new raffle. Tickets are just $2.00 each or $10.00 a book. Club representatives are encouraged to pick up their books at the General Meeting. Help us to have another successful season and with some luck, become a winner yourself. With prices like this, it’s worth the chance.

All of us are watching how we spend our money to make ends meet. If you are interested in going to a show and would like save some money, volunteer to be at our booth at one of the upcoming shows. We guarantee great company, meeting new people and best of all going to the show. Call Mark for times available and what shows.
