"Volunteer of the Year"

Award From Coast Institute, Monmouth University

At the Second Annual Champion of the Ocean Awards Luncheon Thursday, October 5, 2006, following the Second Annual Ocean Future Symposium presented by the Urban Coast Institute, Monmouth University, Tom Fote received the Volunteer of the Year award.

The biography printed in the program read

“Tom Fote is Legislative Chairman of the Jersey Coast Anglers Association.  The Jersey Coast Anglers Association (JCAA) is an association of more than 75 saltwater fishing clubs that represents the position of marine sport anglers, champions their causes and protects their rights in matters pertaining to fishing, fisheries and environmental quality.  He has also been on the board of the American Sportsfishing Association.  His efforts were instrumental in the formation and continued support for the Barnegat Bay National Estuary Program.  Tom has given tirelessly of his time, energy and passion to support enhanced fishing opportunities and marine conservation in New Jersey.”
