September 19. Annual Fisherman Magazine Surf Fishing Seminar. Featuring Shell E. Caris as speaker, displays by Berkley Striper Club, JCAA, and local tackle shops with good buys on surf equipment. Displays open at 6 p.m., seminar from 7:30 to 10:00 p.m., $10 admission, free prizes for first 100 attendees, lots of door prizes. Toms River Holiday Inn on Rte. 37. October 17. Annual Fisherman Magazine Striped Bass Seminar. Trolling, jigging, bucktailing, live eels, chunking, clamming – all the hot techniques for catching fall stripers. Displays by Hi-Mar Striper Club, JCAA, and local tackle shops with good buys on bass tackle and lures.
