The Jersey Coast Anglers Associations
Youth Education Committee is asking J.C.A.A member clubs/organizations for a listing of
scheduled youth and family events that are going to be held by your club or organization. The purpose of this request is to alert other
fishing clubs and organizations that would like to participate in your youth and family
event. The J.C.A.A. Newspaper is a way to get
the word out about whats happening in your club. Use this opportunity to inform
others about events your fishing club or organization is involved in. The Jersey Coast
Anglers Associations Youth Education Committee will support your event with
"Hook On Fishing Not On Drugs" material. Please
contact Greg Kucharewski with your listing of youth and family events and dont
forget the Sportsmen Shows (booth location) your fishing club or organization will attend. By providing this information your fishing club or
organization can improve membership and increase consumer participation. The following JCAA member clubs conducted youth
education programs that demonstrated a variety of youth fishing opportunities: New Jersey Beach Buggy Association, Newark Bait

YOUNGSTERS WIN PRIZES AT GOVERNORS
CUP
During the Governors Surf
Fishing Tournament, over 325 children participated at the Jersey Coast Anglers
Associations, Youth Education Committees Casting Pond. Children casting at our cement pond received
"Hooked On Fishing Not On Drugs" stickers and a variety of fishing goodies
supplied by funds received from the Jersey Coast Anglers Association and the Governors
Surf Fishing Tournament. A special thanks to
Frank Bittner, Federation of Sportsmens Clubs for his generous donation of
sandspikes. While we were handing out prizes
to the children I heard a little girl say to her father this is my SANDSPIKE and I
am going to write my name on it. Frank,
thanks much, we appreciate your fine work.
This year, The Fisherman magazine
conducted a Fisherman Bumper Sticker Hunt in the sand at the pavilion area while children
and their families waited for the Governors Cup awards committee to post weigh-ins
from the judges registration cards. Over
sixty-five children received prizes for finding bumper stickers that were buried in the
sand.
Nick and Austin representatives from
The Fisherman did a great job of entertaining children at their Beach of Plenty
prize activity.
