Mark your Calendar now for the 6th annual Jersey Coast Fluke Tournament on June 10th, 2000. The Jersey Coast Fluke Tournament is a unique concept that is ten mini-tournaments in one, each with its own set of prizes. Each contest is held at one of the ten ports from Jersey City south to Fortescue. Contestants from each port will be awarded prizes based on the largest fish weighed from that port. You compete for over $2,800 in prizes for your port. The eight port prizes are: 1st place $1,000 sponsored by Resorts Casino Hotel, 2nd place $500 sponsored by Boater’s World, 3rd place Raytheon High Performance L470 Fishfinder, 4th place embroidered luggage valued at $250 sponsored by Canyon Gear Outfitters, 5th place $200 sponsored by the UFA, 6th place Penn Rod & reel combo, 7th place Fisherman Magazine Video Collection and 8th place a Starbrite Boat Kit. Remember that you only compete against those boats registered in your port for these prizes.All participants are automatically eligible for the Grand Prize of a Cobia boat, Yamaha motor and trailer which will be selected during the door-prize drawing Gala Awards Ceremony at Resorts Casino-Hotel in Atlantic City on the evening of Friday, June 16th, 2000. All contestants are urged to attend this great event for a chance to win the Grand Prize and many other great door prizes. There will be buffet and cash bars open during the ceremony. The Grand Prize will be on display, along with dozens of door prizes. T-shirts and art designed by Steve Goione will be available. You can meet the board and members of JCAA, representatives from Cobia, Yamaha, Boater’s World, Canyon Gear, Penn Reels, The Fisherman magazine, The New Jersey Angler and others. Port prizes will be presented at the event.
The management of Resorts Casino Hotel invites all tournament entrants to come and enjoy their facilities both during and after the awards ceremony. If you want to make a night out of it, a limited number of specially priced rooms will be available at the hotel for contestants. This fun event is important to all recreational fishermen. The Jersey Coast Anglers Association, the eyes, ears and voice of recreational fishermen in New Jersey, has been working hard to protect the marine environment and the fisheries we enjoy as part of this great sport we all love. With 18 years experience carrying out this important work, JCAA is a leading advocacy group on the East Coast. Fluke Tournament proceeds go to help JCAA continue its work.
