We will be holding the drawing for our High Roller Raffle at the April 25 meeting. Please have all tickets in before 8:00 PM on April 25. The drawing will be done prior to the Jersey Coast Anglers Association meeting, which is not open to the public. The JCAA general meeting is for club members of the Association.
We have two new clubs that have joined the Jersey Coast Anglers Association. The first is New Jersey Council of Diving Clubs. The second is the Trailblazers Fishing Club, which is from Pennsylvania. We also have a former member club returning from Pennsylvania, which is The Association of Surf Angling Clubs (A.S.A.C.). We are very happy to have all three aboard. As more clubs join and unite in the fight for the resource, we at Jersey Coast will continue to get stronger fighting for you.
On April 6-10 there was an Atlantic City Boat Show where we had a booth. At that booth was the Cobia Boat which will be given away at the Awards Ceremony for this years Fluke Tournament. The Fluke Tournament will be held on June 10 with an Awards Ceremony on June 16 at Resorts. I would like to thank all the volunteers that worked Atlantic City show. They are Phil Celmer, Rich Pasko, John Koegler, Rich Lippo, Frank Richetti, Al Marantz, Paula Emond and Tom Fote. A special thanks goes to Dan Miller for all his time at the show. He did an outstanding job selling High Roller Raffle Tickets. We need more people like these to volunteer their time to help build a stronger Association. Our Youth Education Chairperson, Greg Kurharewski, and Dr. Eleanor Bochenek ran a program for kids which had three sessions and a total of 240 kids. Great job on handling all those kids that went through the program. I am also glad to see more kids getting interested in fishing. These kids are the future generations to enjoy the sport of fishing and the protectors of the resource.
One final note. JCAA is interested in enlisting the services of a lawyer to assist us in some work.. Contact the JCAA (732 506-6565) if you are interested volunteering some time
