PRESIDENT’S REPORT

By Mark Taylor

(from Jersey Coast Anglers Association April 2000 Newsletter)

This is our April newsletter and everyone is most likely getting ready for the upcoming fishing season. Remember to check the size and bag limits for the species you seek before you plan your day. I have seen incorrect size limits on winter flounder in a few papers. The correct size is 10 ½ inches with no bag limit, but there is a season, March 1 thru May 31 and September 15 thru December 31. All anglers should be aware of the recreational fishing regulations for this season.

Jersey Coast Anglers Association will have a booth at the Atlantic City boat show on April 6 thru 10. We will need people to work the booth. If you can help out, please contact the JCAA office or myself as soon as possible so we can get a work schedule together. This will help make the show run smoothly. We need everyone to help where they can.

I would like to take the time in my column this month to thank an associate member and fellow fisherman, Peter Guralchuk. Peter must see how hard that this Association is working with limited funds and the ever increasing battles to protect the resources for the years to come. When Peter renewed his associate membership this year, he also donated $175.00 to help fight these battles. With more people like Peter, we at Jersey Coast Anglers Association will continue to get stronger in fighting these battles.

Just a reminder that all dues and sponsorships were due in January. This is April's newsletter and those that have not paid yet should send it in so we can update our records for the year 2000. Those that have paid already, thank you for your speedy reply. If you see any errors in your sponsorship, please contact us so we can make these corrections.
