PRESIDENT’S REPORT

By Mark Taylor

(from Jersey Coast Anglers Association February 2000 Newsletter)

We were having some difficulty confirming dates for our monthly meeting at Brick Municipal Building. I am happy to report that the last Tuesday of the month will still be our meeting night at Brick Municipal Building. Thanks to Frank Richetti for his hard work in resolving this problem. When we thought we might need a new meeting hall, Jersey Coast Shark Anglers generously offered the use of their facility. I would like to thank this club for their offer, but we will not need their building at this time. JCAA can always count on its member clubs.

As you all know, this time of year is Seminar/Show time. We had a table at the Saltwater Sportsman Magazine Seminar at Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City on January 8th. I would like to thank the people at Saltwater Sportsman Magazine and George Poveromo, Spider Andresen and Rip Cunningham for the invitation to their seminar and their generous donation to JCAA. The volunteers that worked this seminar did an outstanding job. They were Rich Pasko and Phil Celmer (Fish Hawks), Tom Fote (Berkeley Striper Club), John Koegler (Thousand Fathom Club-South) and Al Marantz (Newark Bait & Fly Casting Club). We need more people like these gentlemen to help out with different tasks. We will also have a booth at the Raritan Center Sportsmen's Show at Raritan Center Expo Hall in Edison on January 13-16. The individuals who work this show will be named in the next newsletter.

As you all know, Jersey Coast Anglers Association tries to get the latest information out to our recreational community in a few ways. One way is our newspaper and the another is e-mail. We are printing more newspapers each month since the purchase of a new machine that collates and staples. We have received another new machine called a paper jogger, which was donated by Mal Brown from The Kelshawn Group, Ltd. This piece of equipment will be a big help in putting the monthly newsletter together. We would like to thank Mal Brown for his generosity.

We still need club representatives on all our Committees at JCAA. If you are interested, please contact the Chairperson whose name is listed in the newsletter. There are HOT issues in some of the species right now and others are on the way. Don't sit back and hope that someone else will take care of the problems for you.

GET INVOLVED RIGHT NOW BEFORE IT'S TO LATE
